We have our reconditoined back up on the beach access road. This box is the property of the Glenn Shores Community Association. If you have community information you would like posted in the box, contact a board member or email gs@glenn-shores.com

Glenn Shores Sign Vandalized... REWARD offered...

Our Glenn Shores Association sign was vandalized recently, we have filed a police report and are offering a reward.  Please contact the Allegan County Sherriff Department or email gs@glenn-shores.com.
The sign has been removed and is currently being repaired.

Spreading the bark arouind the park....a special Thank You!

The Glenn Shores Community Association board would like to give out a special Thank You to Bob King for spreading the bark pile that was left from a tree we had removed last fall on the corner by Ferndell (by the beach stairs/deck).  The area certainly looks much better and once again we appreciate what our neighbors do to make our community look great.  ****If you run across someone doing something good for our community email it to gs@glenn-shores.com and we'll make sure to blog about it.  Thanks for being great neighbors!

Beachroad damage from the storms....

Just a FYI... if you are heading down the beachroad, be aware that some sand has washed down from the bank.  The association is looking at options on having the sand remove.  In the meantime drive with caution.

Tree down on Lakeview...

Just an FYI, we had a tree come down from a storm on Lakeview... the county road commission has been contacted and will be removing the tree.

It's back...and bigger than before...

The hole in the road is back... bigger than ever, the county has been made aware of the situation and is scheduling a repair.

Cones - Caution on Golf Mere @ Lakeview

A word of caution...Golf Mere at Lakeview has seems to be washing away.  You'll notice the orange cones, hopefully the county is out soon to repair the road.  The road commission has been notified, actually a couple times (last Thursday and this Friday), we'll check with them next week to see if they have a repair scheduled. 

Cancer from your Sunscreen...

I just ran across an article regarding the safety of Sunscreen.  I heard this before, but using some brands of sunscreen is actually more dangerous than not using any at all.  I've had conversations with people and have tryed to explain that concept, wow do you get some crazy looks... Umbrella City

The July 4th beach crowd seemed huge... I know there had to be some record set for the number of beach umbrells"s...  88 degrees, a light breeze, perfect water temp.... what a great day for the beach at Glenn Shores.

Perfect Day for a Parade

What a great day for a parade, sunny, the perfect temperature, a nice breeze, surrounded by great friends and neighbors..... we had a nice size parade and perhaps a record crowd of observers.  Hope your 4th of July was perfect.

Glenn Shores Annual 4th of July Parade

Make sure to be part of Glenn Shores annual Fourth of July Parade. This years parade, as always will be held on the 4th of July. The parade starts promptly at 9 AM (meet at the end of Ferndell by the beach stairs lot). Decorate yourself, your bike, your wagon, your golf cart and join your neighbors on a short parade around Glenn Shores. Refreshments will be served at the end of the parade. We are looking forward to
seeing you there.

Tree Down....

So anyway... Wednesday night (June 23rd) we headed down to the beach, down the beach road and oh-no... there was a tree blocking the beach road.  As crazy as it seems, as we were pondering what to do with the tree, "Chainsaw Bob" pulled up behind us in his golfcart.  Well to make a long story short, within about 45 minutes the tree was cut up and off the road.  Ok, so there's not really a "Chainsaw Bob", actually it was our neightbors Bob King and Scott Dunkelberg, its great that we have a community with neighbors that help get things done.  Thanks Bob... Thanks Scott! 

Foggy Sunday

12th Annual Waterfront Film Festival - Saugatuck - June 10 - 13, 2010

Just a reminder, the 12th Annual Waterfront Film Festival is being held this weekend, June 10 - 13, 2010 in Saugatuck.  It's generally a great event, its ranked as one of the top 5 film festivals in the US, for more details, check out there website at http://www.waterfrontfilm.org/ 

Every once in a while...we'll find ourselves with a rainy weekend at Glenn Shores.  Well, don't worry there are tons of activities not far from Glenn Shores.  Friday evening I took a trip down to Fourwinds Casino, it's located in New Buffalo.  It's a short drive about 56 miles, its takes about an hour to get to Fourwinds, simply drive south toward Chicago, take I-196 South to I-94West, get off at Exit 1, take a left, then another left at the light and your there.  For more information check out their website at http://www.fourwindscasino.com/

Pancake Breakfast at the Glenn Community Center

Hope you were able to enjoy the Pancake Breakfast at the Glenn Community Center.  For those of you unfamiliar with these events, the Glenn Community Center holds Pancake Breakfast on the Memorial Day, Forth of July and Labor Day weekends... they are held on the Sunday of the holiday weekend and run from 7:30 to Noon, Adults $6.00 Children $4.00, you'll find an enjoyable breakfast that helps support the local community center.  For more information on the Glenn Community Center you can find them online at http://www.glennmichigan.org/

Shores...getting use to how the blog works.  For those of you who weren't lucky enough to be at Glenn Shores this weekend, Sunday turned out to be a great beach day... sunny and warm, and a great sunset.  Hope to seeya soon
